Writing is a great way to tell someone else's story and this is why I love to put words together on paper. I enjoy challenges that teach me something new and improve my skills in everything I do. I believe that there is no success without first experiencing some failure, but persistence is a must to accomplish your goals.

Tatiana was born in 1988 to a Colombian family, she was brought to the United States when she was 10-years-old. She did most of her school here but never forgot her native language -- Spanish. Throughout her years of school she was very involved in choir and track. When she went off to college she decided to pursue a career in broadcast journalism because she had always wanted to be on TV, and what best way than by telling someone else's story. She graduated from Illinois State University in May 2011. She obtained a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in political science.

Tatiana has done several internships in the field of broadcasting. At school, she interned for TV-10, the university's daily live newscast. She was able to interview and report on news directed to students and staff of the university. The last year of school she produced and anchored several of the newscasts and TV-10's entertainment show -- Ten on Ten.

She also interned at WJBC Radio. She wrote a weekly calendar and reported on weekly news for Dilo en Español, WJBC's Spanish Sunday's talk show. She also co-hosted the show, interviewed, and discussed about topics interesting to the Latino community. Tatiana also helped the producer to edit the show and upload the webcasts online.

Her last internship took place at WTVO Channel 17 in Rockford. She worked weekends with the photographer helping him collect all the b-roll for the day's newscasts, as well as interviewing senators and people from the community on important issues in the city. Tatiana also helped the producer to write voice overs and pick soundbites for the shows. She also helped edit the shows and put them on the air.

Tatiana is currently working as a freelancer and furthering her education in journalism.
